Since we’ve launched The Light Brigade about 2 weeks ago, we’ve received an overwhelming amount of feedback and our dev team has been hard at work to address them. Our ultimate goal is provide the premiere roguelike VR experience for the community, and the only real path forward is to deeply reflect upon all the feedback, negative reviews and suggestions and to iterate upon our game through continual updates and communication.
In total, there ended up be about 240+ changes in this patch which includes improvements, balances, bugfixes, and QOL enhancements to the experience. This patch is NOW LIVE across all platforms (PSVR2, Quest2/Pro, and Steam).
Notable Changes
- Added tons of new XR and Graphics Settings (ie. custom turn speeds, bolt grab with trigger, joystick deadzones, and much more)
- Redesigned the aiming/locomotion system — two handed encumbrance only applies when in aiming pose (see video) — added “legacy mode” (in XR Settings) for those who still liked the old version
- Added higher difficulty tier (NG+++), rebalance NG+ and NG+ bosses
- Added ability to press trigger on ammo to auto-store (see video)
- Tons of bug fixes - like “end run” preserving unpurified progress, and much more..
- Balanced weapons damages/recoil, and rank points spending
- (PSVR2 only) Improved framerate from 60→90hz (90hz NATIVE), improved image crispness (2X MSAA), improved text legibility, slightly improved tracking (foveated still WIP), trophies, etc
- (Quest Pro only) Added local dimming and dynamic foveated rendering with eye-tracking
